About
Welcome to Omakase Sushi Bar, a hidden gem located in the picturesque A Coruna, Spain. Nestled on Pr. de Maria Pita, 3, this establishment is a delightful marriage of traditional Japanese culinary artistry and the rich, vibrant produce of Galicia. As a food reviewer for Menu Buzz, I am excited to introduce you to a dining experience that transcends the ordinary and offers something extraordinary.
At Omakase, the philosophy is simple yet profound: let the chef guide your journey through a meticulously crafted menu that showcases seasonal ingredients sourced locally. Under the watchful eye of Chef Adrian, each dish is not just a meal but an experience. The skill and finesse he employs shine through every bite, a sentiment echoed by countless diners who rave about the restaurant.
One diner, harryp13, mentioned an Omakase experience that rivaled the elite offerings found in London, with the added bonus of exceptional value—€100 for over ten courses coupled with carefully curated wine pairings. This level of quality amidst the stunning backdrop of Galicia is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to excellence.
The luxurious atmosphere further enhances the dining experience, making it an ideal location for a romantic dinner or a special occasion with friends. The interior exudes a classy yet relaxed vibe, as described by Sanles Luksetich, who emphasized the freshness of the fish and the warm hospitality of the staff.
Moreover, the menu is a voyage through local flavors, featuring everything from squid to scallops, all caught in nearby waters. Chef Adrian’s dedication to utilizing Galician produce not only supports local fishermen but also ensures that each dish bursts with freshness and flavor. As noted by George Tripels, the passion and love infused into each plate are palpable.
Whether you are a sushi aficionado or a curious newcomer to Japanese cuisine, Omakase Sushi Bar promises a memorable experience. The combination of exceptional service, exquisite culinary creations, and the perfect wine pairings makes it a must-visit on your trip to A Coruna. Plan your reservation, and prepare to indulge in a dining experience that is both unique and unforgettable.
“ As good as it gets. Adrien is a master of his craft, which he executes to perfection and more importantly, with passion and love. They also use all local fish, everything (squid, scallop, sardine even the eel) is caught locally in Galicia. The Tuna comes from Catalunya. Really recommend. ”
“ I don’t think there are words to do justice to the experience of eating in Omakase. It’s the up-close-and-personal eating experience you will ever have! I thought I liked sushi before I went… now I know I had never really enjoyed or savoured sushi as much! The “menu” isn’t really a menu - it is more of an informative list of what you are going to be eating - Omakase means “I leave it up to you” and Adrián (the sushiman) does a great job deciding what you would like to taste. All I can say is - try it - it is worth the experience. ”
“ Incredible meal - the sushi was unreal and the staff were fantastic. Such a unique experience - one we would recommend to anyone and would love to come back for again! ”
“ What Adrian, Andres and team are doing here is as bold in its intent as it is flawless in its execution. The wealth of incredible produce Galicia has at its disposal lends itself extremely well to a sushi concept, however that is to take nothing away from the formidable skill, care and finesse Adrian employs in creating and preparing each dish. My Omakase with accompanying wine flight was fantastically delicious, and the equal of many of the celebrated posh omakase offerings I have tried back in London. What astonished me most, however was the value for money of it. €100 for 10+ courses and wine pairings of this quality represents exceptional value for money and I would encourage anyone who is travelling to Galicia to add this as an essential cornerstone of their trip. Adrian and Andres looked after me superbly well and were very hospitable and engaging. Well done, and thank you both for an unforgettable experience. ”
“ Great place for a fancy dinner and date. Reservations are a must. The fish was so fresh and juicy and served with great care. The atmosphere is very nice as well! Relaxed and enjoyable. I think it's best for 2 people but we went with 3 and still had a great time. ”
“ Absolutely phenomenal dining experience. One of my favorite meals ever, and quite possibly the best sushi I’ve had. I’ve been to Japan twice and eaten at nice sushi restaurants in the US and Europe but this place is just incredible. The quality of the ingredients and preparation is so authentic and impressive, the chef is really kind and friendly, and the ambience is stellar - tasteful and subtle decor, fun music at the perfect volume, comfortable seating… Really this place is special. We can’t wait to return. The hotate was out of this world! ”
“ One of the best Japanese restaurants (outside of Japan) with Galician produce. Seasonal menus, outstanding service, classy design and an incredible selection of unique wines. The two managers truly make dining here a memorable experience. It's pricey but definitely worth it. Omakase is a must every time we visit the city. ”
“ Everything was spectacular. An intimate atmosphere that is comfortable yet elegant. You can tell each dish is carefully designed, the fish just melts in your mouth. Adrián’s passion for fish and hand selection of the fish each day makes a big difference. Andrés knows the perfect pairing of wine or sake to pair with the menu. We loved all of it and are looking forward to going back. ”
